FRANCE: THE SPARKLING WATER MARKET

Article Abstract:

According to IRI-Secodip, the sparkling water market sold 890,853 litres during the 12 months ending 20 August 2000, up 6%, for FFr 2.9bn, up 6.9%. Mineral waters represented 13.6% of the volume, up 5% and 24.7% of the value, up 6.5%, but spring waters rose 13% in volume and 12.4% in value and private labels rose 26% in volume and 27.5% in value. Badoit, the market leader, Perrier, and St-Yorre lost volume market shares, while the most recent brands (Salvetat, Quezac, and Arvie, rose between 5% and 8% each.

FRANCE: MONTARCHE IN 5 LITRE BOTTLES

Article Abstract:

The Eau de Source de Montarche, a French bottled spring water company, has introduced a version of its spring water in five-litre bottles. This mountain water springs from the vestiges of an ancient volcano in the Monts du Forez, near Saint Etienne. The five-litre bottle is priced at between FFr 6.10 and FFr 7.

FRANCE: BADOIT'S NEW PRODUCT

Article Abstract:

Evian Volvic Diffusion has extended its Badoit sparkling water line with Vertigo in raspberry-green apple flavour. It is priced at EUR 3.03 for a pack of six 33 cl bottles.
