FRANCE: NEW TOOTHPASTES FROM ELIDA-FABERGE

Article Abstract:

The French hygiene and cosmetics products group, Elida-Faberge, is going to launch its new toothpaste, Signal Haleine Pure, containing triclosan, zinc citrate, and hexedrine to counteract bacteria. This will also be supported by the launch of its new whitening paste, Signal Systeme Blancheur, which contains bicarbonate of soda. The new range will be backed up with a television advertising campaign, and promotional programmes at the start of 2001. The group's more pharmaceutical brand name, Sanogyl, will simultaneously launch care and fresh-breath pastes. Elida-Faberge controls 37.4% of this market, in front of Colgate with 21%.

FRANCE: COLGATE LAUNCHES HERBAL TOOTHPASTE

Supported by several TV advertising campaigns during the year, and a promotional offer on the first purchase, Colgate is launching its new herbal toothpaste. Presented in a green box, the toothpaste contains natural plant extracts, including camomile, sage, eucalyptus, and myrrh. The hygiene products group believes this is a promising market niche.
