FRANCE: NEW OPENING FOR SUSE

Article Abstract:

The German computer programme company, SuSe, which specialises in systems for the Linux operating programme, has released a French version of its 7.0 edition, and announced the creation of a new subsidiary in France, in Velizy , near Paris. This new office will be responsible for direct and indirect sales of its SuSe Linux products, as well technical assistance for installation. SuSe aims to be able to increase its consulting offer to its French division in 2001.

FRANCE: LINUX TRAINING IS MORE EXPENSIVE FOR CIGREF

Article Abstract:

The computing association for large French businesses, Cigref, estimates that the Linux operating system can lead to an increase of 10-20% in training costs, despite the fact that it reduces the company's purchasing bill. The Cigref felt that the free system was adapted to office and Internet applications, but is not ideal for the production environment.
