SEB Group, which was founded in 1973, manufactures kitchen, cleaning and personal electrical appliances and is among the top small household appliances companies in the world. SEB gained international status upon its purchase of Rowenta in 1988, with its France-based SEB SA division in charge of a group of manufacturing, marketing services and holding companies. SEB gained 34% of its total sales from coffee makers, toasters, portable ovens, food processors and other electrical cooking appliances. Thirty-one percent of SEB's sales came from small domestic appliances such as vacuum cleaners. Meanwhile, about 5% of sales came from personal care appliances such as dental care equipment and hair dryers.

The company's Drum line of smoking tobacco is one of Italy's best selling smoking tobacco products. Other rolling tobacco brands from the company are Van Nelle, Amphora and White Ox. The company is a unit of Sara Lee/DE Coffee Grocery, which is a division of Sara Lee Corp.
