While the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose significantly in the wake of George W. Bush's reelection to the presidency, foreign markets saw only small gains. With the U.S. election over, investors are still left facing other potentially destabilizing factors such as high oil prices, insecurity in the Middle East, and concerns over a possible slowing of the economy in the U.S. and the fear that it may be overheating in China.
