The German concept of the rights of shareholders is different than in most countries, and foreign investors are angered by their lack of input. Minority shareholders have little influence in German companies though some of them are adjusting their practices.

Learning to love equity

Article Abstract:

Stockholders have traditionally had very little influence within German companies and relatively few of them even have publicly listed shares. There is a movement however in Germany to give equity holders the same power that they have in other countries.
