Telia Fails to Win Swedish Mobile License

Telia AB has been denied its bid for a third-generation mobile telephone license by Sweden's National Post and Telecommunications Agency. The agency announced that it granted the new licenses to NetCom AB's Tele2 AB, and three other consortiums with Swedish links.

Regulator tells France Telecom to reduce rates

France Telecom was asked to reduce the rates of its incoming calls by the ART, the French telecommunications regulator. The company will lower rates by 20% for incoming calls coming from fixed lines to its Itineris mobile network.
