Denmark: Hotel project to be shelved due to WTC attack

Article Abstract:

The terrorist attack in the US will have an indirect impact on hotel construction as the demand for hotels is anticipated to fall following a drop in travel. As a result of this Rica Hotels ASA, the Norwegian hotel chain, has decided to cancel its plans to set up a hotel at Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark. What is more, Intercontinental, Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza have given up all development plans for new hotels world-wide. The seven hotel projects in Copenhagen that are still on the drawing board are expected to be delayed apart from the Keops hotel project in Orestaden.
