Denmark: EU gives go-ahead to Ica-Netto alliance

The EU has approved the planned 50-50 joint venture between the leading Danish and Swedish grocery retail chains Dansk Supermarked and Ica. The parties will now develop and operate a discount chain, Netto, and a supermarket chain, Bilka, in Sweden and in Norway.

DENMARK: ISO AND ICA TO COOPERATE

The Swedish supermarket chain ICA is to cooperate with the Danish supermarket chain ISO. A contract that gives ISO strength to invest outside the Copenhagen area has been signed. The joint venture is to be named ISO.
