A survey conducted by Greens analysis institute into consumer attitudes towards banks shows that half of all Danes do not consider is advantageous to allow one bank to attend to one's banking matters. 40% consider bank advisors more like sales persons than advisors. Two thirds of the interviewees are of the opinion that the counselling offered by the bank is good. Almost 80% of Danes say they have a regular adviser at their bank. In the survey, every third Dane says Danske Bank is their primary finance institute whereas 25% have Unibank and 6% Jyske Bank. The survey involved 1,239 persons over the age of 17 years.

Article Abstract:
Danish finance minister Marianne Jelved welcomes the new initiative to establish a new credit institution council for banks and mortgage banks. The idea is that the new council is to lay down guidelines for banks and mortgage banks and to act as a mediator in possible conflicts between them. According to the Danish business daily, Borsen, the new credit institution council replace the existing Insurance Council so that the banking, insurance and mortgage banking sector are all covered by the new council.

Article Abstract:
A letter of intent has been signed between Schouw & Co., the Danish investment conglomerate, and the Swedish unit of the Norwegian packaging company Elopak whereby Schouw is to acquire a 50% stake of Elopak. This acquisition is expected to have a positive impact on Schouw's results for 2002.
