Danske Bank is the best bank in Denmark, according to a study made by the Danish newspaper Okonomisk Ugebrev. A questionnaire was sent to 150 bank CEOs, containing questions on which bank they consider best in different fields, such as public profile, ability to hold on to competent employees, largest growth potential etc. Danske Bank got the first position in 20 out of 29 fields, and five second positions. Danske Bank's largest competitor, Unibank/Nordea, did considerably worse, with only three first positions and one second place.

Nordea, Danske Bank, Regionale Banker and Lokale Pengeinstitutter plan to start exporting their payment systems for payments on the Internet to other Nordic countries. This would generate major earnings, according to John Andersen of Danske Bank. The system was yesterday presented to the Association of Danish Internet Media (FDIM), which is the first prospect for the so-called micro-payment system.

Danske Bank has signed an agreement with Goldman Sachs PrimeAccess whereby Danske Bank's non-corporate clients will get access to stockmarket analyses of more than 2,500 companies as well as Goldman Sachs' sector analyses, morning comments and strategy notes. Goldman Sachs has similar agreements with banks in Germany, Italy, Spain and Finland.
