DENMARK: DANISH PORTS REPORT GOOD PROFITS

Article Abstract:

The year 2000 has been a profitable year for Danish ports, according to Sammenslutningen af Danske Havne, which is the trade organisation of Danish ports. The biggest port, Associated Danish Ports, for example records a cargo turnover of 16.7mn tonnes in 2000 vs. 14.6mn tonnes in 1999. This port actually consists of two ports Fredericia and Nyborg. Arhus Havn, which is the foremost container port in Denmark had a cargo turnover of 10mn tonnes, up 25%.

SWEDEN/DENMARK: CO-OPERATION BETWEEN PORTS

Article Abstract:

The ports in Aalborg, Denmark, and Varberg, Swedne, have initiated a co-operation project covering logistics, marketing, development, environmental issues etc. The aim is to increase the importance of the two ports following the opening of the Oresund bridge link between Denmark and Sweden.

DENMARK: APM AIMS TO EXTEND ITS NETWORK OF PORTS

Article Abstract:

A.P.Moller's (APM) Maersk Sealand aims to extend its network of container ports. It is interested in setting up a terminal in Port 2000, the port in Le Havre, France, that is scheduled to be completed in 2004.
