The German-American giant DaimlerChrysler will enter the Danish financial market, as the company DaimlerChrysler Capital Services has acquired the Danish leasing company Durus Finans. The company will focus on financing construction machinery, industrial machinery and computer investments. From February, even the property market will be targeted. In Denmark, leasing accounts for only 8% of businesses' financing, compared with 16% in Sweden and 26% in the US, according to Jan Fredriksen, the founder of Durus Finans who has now become the head of DaimlerChrysler Capital Services' operations in Denmark.

Dataram Corporation, the US company that last week bought Danish Memory Card Technology for DKr260mn (US$31.7mn), now aims to invest in Danish production. Dataram's deputy finance manager Mark Maddocks says the company aims to retain as well as boost production in Denmark.
