Amsterdam Schiphol profit boost

Article Abstract:

The Schiphol Group has posted a profit increase of 13.1% for 2000, or NLG316.8 million from 1999. However, return on net assets fell from 9.4% in 1999 to 8.7% in 2000. The decrease is largely due to the group's substantial investments, which resulted in fixed asset growth outstripping operating profit. Return on equity was up slightly to 9.9%. The 9.0% rise in airport fees was partly attributable to price increases, which had a net effect of only 1.2%.
