Leo Burnett's Toronto office will handle the North American advertising of Procter & Gamble's (P&G) Gain laundry detergent. Jim McKenzie, president of Leo Burnett, said the Gain account was a big honor and responsibility for the agency. McKenzie added that they will deal directly with P&G's headquarters in Cincinnati, OH. He pointed out that the advertising campaign for Gain has not gone past the conceptual stage since the business is relatively new for Leo Burnett.

Procter and Gamble (P&G) has engaged the services of N5R.com, a Toronto- based digital marketing shop focusing on online promotions, for the development of an online e-mail advertising campaign for P&G's Physique line of hair care products. P&G is positioning Physique to compete with high-end products such as the Aveda brand. Roman Bodnarchuk, CEO of N5R, said the introduction of Physique will focus heavily on online marketing.

The agency, an affiliate of BCom3, handles the media buying accounts of The Gap, Ontario Jockey Club, HudsonsBay.com, AOL Canada and Polaroid throughs its Starcom division. In 1999, the firm posted revenues of $26 million.
