Brisk Tabor does not mean sparking plugs only

Brisk (Tabor, Czech Republic), sparking plug manufacturer, commissioned a wholly-owned subsidiary in Ozersk, Russia, at the beginning of 2000. The investment costs on the setting up of the plant in Russia were about 100 mil Kc. The plant should produce 7-8 mil plugs during one-shift operation in 2000 and 12-15 mil pieces in 2001. Its 2000 proceeds should be about 3 mil USD. Brisk saw a profit of 3.2 mil Kc in 1999. The firm produced a total of 19 mil plugs, which represented 80% of its total production. Exports generated nearly 69% of the firm's 1999 proceeds. Besides sparking plugs for spark-ignition engines, the firm manufactures heating plugs for Diesel engines, engine diagnostic devices under the name Paltest and catchers for the car industry. The firm's products line also includes technical ceramics products, textile fibre ceramic guides, cooking stove, heater and boiler ignition electrodes and corundum ceramics boards.

Ceskomoravsky cement (CMC) (Beroun, Czech Republic), the largest Czech building material producer, was set up on 01 May 1998. The firm was a merger of Cement Bohemia (Prague, Czech Republic) and Cementarny a vapenky Mokra (Czech Republic). The new company expects a turnover of about 5 bil Kc per year. The firm's production programme includes the production of cement, lime, calcareous products, dry mortar and plaster mixtures. The company consists of nine plants. CMC'smain shareholder is the multinational concern Heidelberger Group.

Brisk Tabor increases its profits

Brisk (Tabor, Czech Republic), automotive plug manufacturer, has been awarded a long-term contract on plug supplies by the automotive company Lada Togliatti (Russia). Lada produces about 770,000 cars per year. Currently, Brisk has a 20% share on the Russian spare plug market.
