Article Abstract:
United Nations secretary general, Kofi Annan, argues that globalization should benefit everyone, and he is concerned that 22% of the world population suffers extreme poverty. He sees poverty as making conflict more likely, so argues that poverty should be tackled before conflicts can be solved. New technology and education are important in tackling poverty, and the United Nations can provide training in developing economies as well as carrying out other initiatives such as efforts to tackle youth unemployment.
