Australia gets more visitors

The Australian government continues to harness valuable benefits from the travel sector, as more and more tourists prefer to visit the country. Statistics gathered from an annual government survey revealed that the number of international visitors totalled 3.95 million as of Mar 31, 1999, representing a 2% increase compared to the previous year. Such a rise in the volume of tourists is also coupled with a considerable increase in visitor expenditures, which rose to as much as 14% during the period mentioned.
