South Korea's Asiana Airlines seems determined to pursue its ambitious expansion plans despite of an ongoing investigation into allegations that some of its pilots committed fraud to obtain licenses from the US Federal Aviation Administration. Pres. Park Sam Koo, whose family corporation owns 76% of the airlines, aims to transform Asiana into the world's leading airlines by the first decade of the 21st century. He hopes to increase the number of its aircraft from the current 39 to 71 by 2000.

Kiwi Travel International Airlines Ltd. intends to launch a new service between Australia and smaller cities in New Zealand on Aug. 23, 1995. The company hopes to take a significant portion of the New Zealand-Australia air transport market away from dominant players Air New Zealand Ltd. and Qantas Airways Ltd. To achieve this, Kiwi Travel plans to undercut its rivals' fares.
