As crises pile up, Bristol CEO relies on board allies

Chief Executive Officer Peter R. Dolan of Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. of the United States has weathered an accounting investigation and kept his post. Responsibility for the accounting scandal was found with two former executives who were indicted and a deferred prosecution agreement is in place whereas the pharmaceutical giant's accounting operations are clean over the next two years there will be no criminal charges. Mr. Dolan's management strategy has a steady stream of new drugs in development.

Computer Associates names new CEO

Software company Computer Associates International Inc. has hired John Swainson, a former software developer and executive at IBM, as its new chief executive officer. Swainson replaces Sanjay Kumar who has been charged with criminal securities fraud along with several other of the company's top executives.
