Aerospace merger news lifts shares of principals in mostly weak session

Merger news boosted the price of DaimlerChrysler and Aerospatiale Matra shares in Oct 15, 1999, European trading, but declines in US share prices held the overall market down. DaimlerChrysler shares rose 1.20 euros, or 1.8%, while Aerospatiale shares rose .87 euros, or 4.2%. British Aerospace shares fell 374 pence, or 4.1%. DaimlerChrysler's DaimlerChrysler Aerospace AG unit will merge with Aerospatiale Matra.
