Article Abstract:

According to the Austrian Society for Sleep Medicine and Sleep Research, about 25% of Austrians suffer from sleep disorders, but only about one-third of the sufferers have seen a doctor about it. In about two-thirds of the cases, sleep disorders have psychiatric causes.

AUSTRIA: FORECAST FOR ALZHEIMER CASES

Article Abstract:

The number of people suffering from Alzheimer's disease in Austria is forecast to grow from an estimated 71,707-96,624 in 1992 to 103,123-137,027 in 2020. Treatment costs are likely to rise from Sch 15.9bn-20.9bn in 1992 to Sch 22.8bn-29.6bn in 2020.

Hans Neuhold, president of the association of people with hearing deficiencies in Austria, says that 1.3mn people in Austria, or just under 20% of the population, are hearing impaired.
