ORF and Netway, the internet access provider bought by UTA , have set up an internet advertising company called Adworx. The two partners each hold 47.5% of the stock. The new company is expected to generate a "high double-digit million turnover" in 2001, challenging the market leaders ActiveAgent and AdLink.

In Germany, the Milchstrasen publishing company is to introduce in the Max magazine adverts with sound. The microchip that is glued on the page can contain about 20 seconds of music or speech. The Sound Ads are about twice as expensive as regular adverts.
