A week is a long time in a war

Article Abstract:

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has bombed Serb positions in Yugoslavia, while ethnic Albanian refugees have fled Kosovo, Yugoslavia, and there are reports of killings of ethnic Albanians by Serbs. Russia argues that Serbia is being bullied by Nato, but this protest is muted following aid to Russia from the International Monetary Fund. The bombing has triggered patriotic feeling among Serbs. NATO is hampered by having declared that a ground force would not be used, and such a force would be difficult to organize.
