Article Abstract:
Taiwan is hoping that it will be able to use the economic crisis in Asia, from which it has remained largely immune, to boost its political and economic influence in the region. The government is calling on entrepreneurs to invest more in the region, and is particularly keen to encourage the focus of investment to shift away from China. However, there is strong public opposition to the idea of the Taiwanese government assisting others in the region. Businessmen are also cautious about any investment advice from the government.

Article Abstract:

Fund managers caution investing in young stocks that have traded on the market too long, or new banks that are over exposed.
