Zurich takes a patient approach to market awareness

Zurich Australia Group, realizing that it faced low public awareness of its brand, hired Gillian Turner to head corporate development in Jul 1995. Noting that the company's brand failed to reflect the fundamentals of its business, insurance and funds management, she discarded Zurich's brand-development work and started from scratch. She started by assembling a team of senior managers.

Pesky mouse humbles the mighty GIO

Article Abstract:

GIO, one of Australia's largest insurance groups, has invested heavily in a property developed by Home Building Society but has been left with no voice on the Society's board. GIO's influence was refused when GIO failed to cross-market the Society's services in New South Wales. Loyal Society members have since fought off GIO's attempts at both a merger and seizing board control.
