Women and Part-time Work: The Careers of Part-time NHS Nurses

Article Abstract:

A survey of 643 nurses from the United Kingdom's National Health Service is used to examine employment disadvantage among part-time female employees. Findings contradict common assumptions that part-time workers are comparable to fulltime workers with regard to career experience and qualifications. Rather, organizational context is the factor affecting how career opportunities for part-time employees are structured.

Modes of response to marketing communications failures in the computer services industry

Article Abstract:

A survey by chief executives of 186 computer companies was designed to establish how firms in this sector were likely to respond to serious failures in their marketing communications program and the factors affecting the mode of response. The results concluded that failures of marketing communications could affect sales, reduce revenues and can destroy a firm.

Gender and Employee Attitudes: The Role of Organizational Justice Perceptions

Article Abstract:

A study of Irish manufacturing company employees shows that procedural justice perception plays a mediating role on the relationship between distributive justice perception and gender. Gender was also found to moderate the relationship between affective commitment and distributive justice perception, but did not moderate tenure intent or normative commitment.
