White paper sets defense cuts

The defense policy introduced by UK Sec of State for Defense Malcolm Rifkind imposed $1.58 billion in defense cuts between 1992 and 1994. The policy document included provisions for reducing the number of the UK's frigates, destroyers and minesweepers.

Saatchi founder cuts ties to ad firm

Article Abstract:

Maurice Saatchi was forced to step down as chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi in Dec 1994, and severed all ties to the firm on Jan 3, 1995. He announced on Jan 11, 1995, that he plans to open a competing firm, tentatively called the New Saatchi Agency.

Secretary General cuts staff
