Article Abstract:
Business writing in college should simulate the conditions students will encounter when leaving the academic world to begin their careers. The simulation approach gives students the chance to interact with peers on a one-to-one basis; they can also see the transference of skills to real life situations. The simulation consists of imaginary companies, and departments within companies, with students assuming the roles of various positions.

Article Abstract:
Journal writes may be used to improve student writing. A journal write is simply the student's reaction to what he has read. Students read business journals (Business Week, Forbes, Fortune, Wall Street Journal) and write letters or one-paragraph reactions. Students become interested in the material, and their writing skills improve.
