Article Abstract:

The process of developing manufacturing strategy is studied using the conceptual process-model of Hill that involves the participation of functional groups in the manufacturing industry. With a primary focus on the process aspect of manufacturing strategy formulation, the study encountered content issues with important managerial and research implications. Results of the study revealed the need for the business industry, particularly the manufacturing sector, to adopt pragmatic approaches in order to become competitive.
