The divided society

Article Abstract:

The social and economic structure of households will change as Australia evolves into a "30-40-30" society as a result of economic and technological forces. Thirty percent of households will be high income, and the members will be employed in highly-skilled occupations. In 40% of households, between 0.7 and 1.5 of one full-time equivalent income will be made by intermittent employment. The last 30% will depend mostly on social security or casual work for income.
