Article Abstract:

Many theories about the reasons for the superiority of Japanese business management have been advanced, with many conflicting opinions. The components of some of those theories are examined. A chart illustrates the basic factors of Japanese management practices. Theorists seeking explanations tend to overlook factors outside of their own special fields. Suggestions are made for pursuing further clarification.
