Teamocracy and project management: a conundrum

Article Abstract:

Project managers remain the most important players in the successful project management paradigm despite the popularity of teamwork. Under the team system, personal strengths and knowledge should be made available to teams. However, the expertise of each team member is not enough. The team model is successful only if qualified project managers are assigned to teams. Organizational structures may change but project management expertise is indispensable.

Article Abstract:

Integrated project development teams has been a widely accepted project management approach among private and public enterprises. The concept, which has been referred to as concurrent engineering, is touted for shortening the cycle time between a product's conception to its delivery to customers without compromising design quality. The efficiency of using project teams, however, is often unrealized since some firms do not understand the approach.

Teambuilding styles and their impact on project management results

Article Abstract:

A project manager's teambuilding style has a significant impact on a project's success. Companies can use a sociological tool known as Decide-X to know a project manager's approach towards teambuilding. Knowing a project manager's teambuilding style and the project environment can go a long way towards helping companies select the appropriate project manager for a project.
