Chuan Leekpai dissolved the Thai parliament after the Palang Dharma party withdrew its support of Chuan's leadership over a land-reform program scandal. Palang Dharma leader Chamlong Srimuang resigned his position. The country's economy is not expected to suffer any effects from the transition.
