The large banks are moving out of the acquisition strategies of the regional banks and building societies in Australia. The reasons are examined in the context of National Australia Bank (NAB), Commonwealth Bank (CBA), Perth's Home Building Society, the Mackay Permanent Building Society, the Rock Permanent Building Society and Wide Bay Australia.
