Article Abstract:

Through the development of a conceptual model of new product development (NPD), this study examines project management characteristics and the development of successful new products. Among other things, the study finds that projects are best led by managers wi th strong marketing, technical and management skills.

An empirical investigation into the antecedents of knowledge dissemination at the strategic business unit level

Article Abstract:

With a focus on technological knowledge in new product development on the level of the strategic business unit, this study identifies 17 important factors in improving knowledge dissemination. Study findings highlight the importance of individual committment to the firm in facilitating knowledge dissemination.

Antecedents and consequences of goal incongruity on new product development in five countries: a marketing view

Article Abstract:

A study examining the impact of goal disagreements between marketing, research and development, and manufacture of new product development, is presented. The study is based on data gathered from marketing managers of 1,083 companies from United States, Great Britain, China, Japan, and Hong Kong.
