Normalizing dirty work: Managerial tactics for countering occupational taint
Article Abstract:
Exploratory, semistructured interviews with managers from dirty work occupations are used to investigate the challenges of being a manager in tainted work and also to find how managers normalize taint or actively counter it or render it less salient. Four types of practices for countering taint, including occupational ideologies, social buffers, confronting clients and the public, and their links between the practices are discussed.

Triggers and enablers of sensegiving in organizations
Article Abstract:
The conditions associated with sensegiving by stakeholders and by leaders are investigated by using a longitudinal study of sensegiving in organizations. The results have shown that the perception of a gap in organizational sensegiving process triggers sensemaking and both discursive ability and process facilitators enable sensegiving.
