The growth of business tourism in Australia is discussed. The reasons for this strong growth in 2003 are analyzed. Corporate meetings are one of the main reasons for this unprecedented growth in business tourism. Adding to the bonanza is the international incentive tourism, which is likely to draw more tourists in coming years to Australian cities.

Hotel group Accor Asia Pacific and others are now improving and imparting a new look to backpacking accommodations in Australia and New Zealand. Most of the tourists tend to use this dormitory type of accommodation instead of luxury hotels.
