Article Abstract:

Virtual project teams are the high quality, low-cost solutions to complex organizational problems. The emergence, life cycle, development challenges, performance and factors contributing to success of virtual teams are discussed with reference to a large food distribution company. The role of managers in improving the team's performance is also examined.
