Green is not an attitude

Article Abstract:

Environmental-friendliness is seen to become a requirement for business enterprises in the future according to business leaders, but it is not caused by consumer demand. A survey from Yankelovich about the environment shows that only 45% believe that environmental problems today are severe, and only 37% say that they are highly concerned about the environment. Marketers are now challenged to find ways to encourage consumers to act green regardless if they think green or not.
