The use of computer software to improve business communication abilities

Article Abstract:

A technique for teaching business communication writing is presented. The approach emphasizes the preparation of brief, well written reports that analyze a specific problem and propose possible solutions. The development of students' writing abilities is accomplished by requiring students to prepare brief assignments on accounting problems, thereby improving not only the students' business communication skills, but also their grasp of the accounting subjects covered. These reports are typically submitted on paper and on computer disk, thereby encouraging computer literacy as well.
