The development business dispute management and its importance to managers are discussed. Business disputes are inter-organizational commercial disputes as opposed to corporate disputes, which intra-organizational. Disputes arise more frequently as business operations become more complex. They may concern joint ventures, technology transfers, outsourcing or other matters. Arbitration, mediation and other nonadjudicative processes are more effective than use of available mechanisms, involving laws and lawyers, which waste time. Managers should work to prevent disputes.
