THE JANUARY 1980 WHITE HOUSE CONFERENCE ON SMALL BUSINESS IS ABOUT TO BEGIN, BUT WORK ON IT HAS BEEN PROCEEDING FOR MONTHS. IDEAS FOR THE AGENDA HAVE BEEN PRODUCED BY SMALL BUSINESS PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY, AND THE WHITE HOUSE STAFF, HEADED BY J.R. KIRKLAND, HAS COORDINATED SMALL BUSINESS INPUT, RECOMMENDATIONS MADE BY EIGHT TASK FORCES, AND DELEGATE CHANGES. THE DELEGATION'S JOB WILL BE TO COME UP WITH SOLUTIONS TO 13 PROBLEM AREAS. SOME AREAS FOR DISCUSSION ARE ENERGY, INNOVATION-TECHNOLOGY, VETERANS, AND INTREPRENEURIAL EDUCATION.
