MEMBERS OF THE COAL INDUSTRY CRITICIZE FEDERAL REGULATIONS ON ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AS ENDANGERING THE LIVELIHOOD OF THE INDUSTRY. THEY SIGHT THE NEED OF COAL TO AVOID ECONOMIC CRISIS IN THE UNITED STATES. THE CURRENT REGULATIONS ON ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION NEED TO BE REEVALUATED ACCORDING TO COAL PRODUCERS AS THEY ARE OUTDATED OR BASED UPON LESS THAN THE BEST INFORMATION.
