Issues are presented concerning the steps which are being taken by the Australian Stock Exchange to enhance its supervisory role. The attempt made by the Australian Stock Exchange to win public support for its reorganisation is discussed.

A review of the Australian executive job market is presented. The demand for tax consultants remains buoyant whilst vacancies for other types of executives fell by 28% during Jan-Mar 2000 compared to the same period in 1999.
