It is inefficient to buy a more expensive 32-bit minicomputer if a 16-bit can meet the requirements. If a user needs the address register size of the 32-bit, the precision of the 32-bit arithmetic register, or the high speed of throughput, such a purchase would be justified. Honeywell claims that its broad range of DPS 6 series 16-bit minicomputers offers these advantages through its architecture and rich instruction code. An instruction code can affect the MIPS (Million Instruction Per Second) measurement.

Toshiba Says T300 Offers Wide Range of Features

Toshiba is now manufacturing the T300, a 16-bit microcomputer for businesses of any size. It operates on MS-DOS and C-PM-86 and is compatible with the IBM personal computer. It comes with a control unit, printer, keyboard and display terminal. It has seven expansion slots.

Toshiba Develops 256K-bit EP-ROM

Toshiba is now marketing THM 27256, an advanced memory. This new 256K-bit EPROM can be used in microcomputers and personal computers. Two 128K-bit EPROMs are also available. The THM 27256 is compatible with a 256K-bit mask ROM.
