1996 presidential campaign: Perot hosts hopefuls at conference

Article Abstract:

Perot's United We Stand America held a convention Aug 11-13, 1995 in Dallas, TX. Scores of influential politicians attended the convention including 10 Republican presidential candidates. Pres Clinton did not attend, but sent a representative. Perot said he is unsure whether he will run in 1996.

Perot to form third political party

Article Abstract:

Perot announced Sep 25, 1995, that he plans to form the Independence Party. The new party will nominate a candidate for the 1996 presidential race and endorse Congressional candidates. United We Stand members will participate in a drive to register the party in all 50 states.
