Second-quarter profits rose 0.8%

Article Abstract:

Corporations reported 0.8% more after-tax profits in 2nd qtr 1995 of $71.66 billion, compared with the 3.8% increase in 1st qtr 1995 and 24% increase from 2nd qtr 1994 figures. The increases are attributed to better cost control measures and higher export sales.

Health-care costs rose in 1992

Article Abstract:

Health care costs increased to over 14% of total US economic output in 1992, an increase from 13.2% recorded in 1991, according to a Commerce Dept report that was released Jan 7, 1993. The total health care bill in 1992 reached about $838.5 billion.
