1992 trade surplus reaches record high

Article Abstract:

Japan's merchandise trade surplus rose to a record high of $107.06 billion in 1992, a 38% increase over 1991. The Dec 1992 Japanese trade surplus increased to $11.23 billion, a 12% increase over Dec 1991. Dec 1992 exports rose 4.3% over Dec 1991 levels, but imports rose only 0.3%.

Trade deficit widened in May

Article Abstract:

The Commerce Dept reported that the seasonally-adjusted trade deficit increased from $11.42 billion in Apr 1995, to $11.43 billion in May 1995. Economists had expected the deficit to go down because of a weaker dollar. Trade gap figures for individual countries are included.

Trade gap widened in November 1992

Article Abstract:

The US trade deficit grew in Nov 1992 to $7.59 billion, a 5.1% increase over the $7.22 billion deficit reported in Oct 1992. Exports fell by 2.8% to $37.97 billion in Nov 1992, while imports dropped by only 1.6% to $45.56 billion.
