Tri1 encodes the cytochrome P450 monooxygenase for C-8 hydroxylation during trichothecene biosynthesis in Fusarium sporotrichioides and resides upstream of another new Tri gene

Article Abstract:

Research shows that Tri1 gene, encoding P450 monooxygenase, is essential for the biosynthesis of trichothecene as demonstrated by Tri1 gene encoding a C-8 hydroxylase, involved in the production of C-8-oxygenated trichothecenes. Tri1 is localized to a distal part of the trichothecene gene cluster or in another trichothecene gene cluster in Fusarium sporotrichioides.

Identification of new genes positively regulated by Tri10 and a regulatory network for trichothecene mycotoxin production

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on regulatory genes from trichothecene mycotoxin-producing Fusarium species which is required for trichothecene biosynthesis. Results demonstrate that these genes regulate overlapping set of genes which include multiple genes for primary and secondary metabolism.

A novel regulatory gene, Tri10, controls trichothecene toxin production and gene expression

Article Abstract:

Researchers describe a regulatory gene, Tri10, in Fusarium sporotrichioides that regulates four trichothecene genes and the gene for farnesyl pyrophosphate synthetase. It also makes the fungus resistant to T-2 toxin.
